The hot breakfast was a highlight for us, seriously the best we've ever had at a hotel. We checked out the local shops and the nearby state park, both were convenient and fun. I highly recommend it for a budget-friendly stay!

The only downside was that the hotel appeared un-fancy from the outside. Initially, we almost skipped it, but it turned out great. Just don't expect a luxurious vibe as you approach.

I stopped by the Northern Lights Inn while traveling through Rugby, North Dakota. The room was impressively clean, with updated flat-screen TVs, a fridge, and a microwave. The attached restaurant served one of the best hot breakfasts I've ever had at a hotel. I appreciated the coffee maker with pods in the room. The staff made me feel welcome. the general manager, Jacki, was particularly attentive. However, the building has a dated feel, and the exterior could use a refresh. I noticed some maintenance issues that could improve the overall experience, like cracked tiles in the bathroom. Not a huge deal since my stay was pleasant overall, but it's something to consider for future visits.

My room was clean and had a nice fridge and microwave. The hot water was perfect, and the pressure was great—perfect for a nice long shower after the road! It had everything I needed for a quick stopover.

But darling, the decor felt like it time-traveled from the '90s. Plus, did I mention the wall had a hole? Not exactly the chic getaway I dreamed of!
